ASM Historical Landmark Designation

Iowa State University Ames Project Site, Ames, Iowa, has been selected as a 2020 Historical Landmark, by ASM International. 
“The world’s first producer of reactor-fissionable pure uranium metal, enabling self-sustaining nuclear-fission chain-reactions and all of the technologies that they make possible.” 
In 1969, the ASM Historical Landmarks Designation was established to identify permanently the many sites and events that have played a prominent part in the discovery, development, and growth of metals and metalworking.
