Celebrating 5 Years of the AMPM Conference

Five year’s ago, the Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF) launched a North American industry first—a conference completely dedicated to metal additive manufacturing (AM). This year’s AMPM2019: Additive Manufacturing with Powder Metallurgy conference, June 23–26, 2019, at the Sheraton Grand in Phoenix, promises to be the best yet, and the enormous growth of the industry reflects in the ever-expanding program and networking events.

Mitigating the Defects in Metal AM Parts

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory researchers, along with scientists at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory (SLAC) have discovered a solution to a major type of defect in metal 3D-printed parts.

Student Conference Grant Program Expands

Student attendance at POWDERMET2019, International Conference on Powder Metallurgy & Particulate Materials, and AMPM2019, Additive Manufacturing with Powder Metallurgy, could be at an all-time high this year thanks to several grant programs. In total, 75 grants have been awarded to students from colleges and universities from across the country. Students will have a technical poster on display at the conference and present a 10-minute synopsis during a Grant TNT: Talk ‘N Technology session.

PM Networking Events Take the Spotlight

From attendees to exhibitors and from speakers to students, networking is one of the most important functions at a conference. Form or strengthen relationships, get face-to-face time with customers, and ask follow-up questions to researchers in your field. This June, POWDERMET2019: International Conference on Powder Metallurgy & Particulate Materials and AMPM2019: the Additive Manufacturing with Powder Metallurgy conference are ready to set you and your company up for success.
